Sergey Katran - artist, curator.
Born in 1970 in Nikopol, USSR (Ukraine now). Lives and works in Moscow (Russia).
Studied at the Krivoy Rog State Pedagogical Institute, majoring in biology, chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences. Graduated from the School of Visual Arts.
The artist works with various media: installation, object, video, photo, graphics, painting, action, performance, sound, text. Areas of interest: boundaries of art, media poetry, experiment, research, art and science. The artistic practice of Sergei Katran is based on the actual discoveries of modern science and technology, which endow science with the status of a spiritual experiment.

Laureate of the Lomonosov Art Prize for his intellectual contribution to contemporary art (Faculty of Philosophy, Moscow State University, 2012); three times nominated for the Sergei Kuryokhin Prize in the nominations «Best Work of Visual Art» (2013, 2014) and «Art in Public Space» (2016). Cavalier of Excellence in Visual Culture (2015)
Author of five collections of poetry.
